After an indefinite delay due to the serious injuries star Dylan Thomas suffered shooting a car action scene back in early 2016, Maze Runner: The Death Cure is finally ready to hit the big screen.
Based on the young adult series of novels by author James Dashner, in this epic finale to The Maze Runner Saga, Thomas leads his group of escaped Gladers on their final and most dangerous mission yet. To save their friends, they must break into the legendary last city, a WCKD controlled labyrinth that may turn out to be the deadliest maze of all. Anyone who makes it out alive will get the answers to the questions the Gladers have been asking since they first arrived in the maze. Will Thomas and the crew make it out alive? Or will Ava Paige get her way?
The whole film comes across like a hodge-podge of constituent parts of most action and adventure films you’ve ever seen. It doesn’t make for a bad way to watch a film, since the pieces are generally well integrated under the veneer of the story. With it being focused on a younger audience, it’s less likely that they’ll notice elements of Die Hard, Speed, Italian Job, Resident Evil, any runner-style Zombie film, and most points in-between all liberally spread around the film’s more than 2-hour running time… read more from Bleeding Cool
