This new movie by Quentin Tarantino doesn’t begin with his usual blood and gore. Instead you have a long movie divided into chapters with old fashioned intermissions.
The first half of The Hateful 8 is all about good dialogue and setting the scene; but don’t be fooled, part two starts in a hail of bullets, then it is blood, gore and violence all the way.
You may wonder why Tarantino, a knowledgeable writer-director always resolves a story with excessive violence. Possessed by the demon of post-modernism, Tarantino indulges in deliberate bad taste.
