DISNEY’S FAIRYTALE SPECTACLE HAS MAGICAL US OPENING AHEAD OF IRISH OPENING

Disney’s new live action film, CINDERELLA was the belle of the ball at the US box office this weekend, when it opened to an impressive estimated 3-day $70.1M gross 

Filmed in the UK, CINDERELLA features a fairy-tale cast including Lily James, Richard Madden, BAFTA and Academy Award® winner Cate Blanchett, Holliday Grainger, Sophie McShera, BAFTA winning and Academy Award® nominee Helena Bonham Carter and is directed by BAFTA winning and Academy Award® nominee Kenneth Branagh.

CINDERELLA, set to cast a spell over the Irish box office when it opens in cinemas across Ireland on March 27th, will have a special presentation screening at the Jameson Dublin Film Festival on Saturday 21st at the Savoy Cinema, O’Connell Street with Kenneth Branagh in attendance. Audiences will also be treated to the hotly anticipated seven-minute animated shortFROZEN FEVER which plays before the film.

In the US audiences awarded CINDERELLA an A grade CinemaScore® with critics also praising the latest box office smash from The Walt Disney Studios, certifying it  ‘fresh’ on leading film review aggregator Rotten Tomatoes.  CINDERELLA is charming audiences of all ages in the US, along with families, over 25 year olds made up more than 45% of film’s audience, according to exit polls.
