Halloween is fast approaching, as is the MID-TERM BREAK Ahhhh….. No need to worry here are some upcoming events to get you through until your little monsters go back to school. Be aware that there is so much to do and choose from.

Movie Junction Drive-In Cinema

Of course the best thing to do in the evening is to drive on down to Movie Junction and catch the latest blockbusters. Choose from Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles (12A), Alexander and the Horrible, Terrible, No Good, Very Bad Day (PG) for kid’s and families. If you are looking for a well deserved break, then simply enjoy Brad Pitt’s latest performance in ‘Fury’. For those looking for a scare this Halloween, why not watch ‘Horns’ Staring Daniel Radcliffe and ‘Annabelle’ from the makers of The Conjuring.

We will also be hosting 2 charity events to raise awareness on animal welfare. The first will take place On the 30th October, Movie Junction is organising a charity event in aid of Glansillagh Animal Rescue in order to raise awareness and funds.
Movie Junction will donate €4.00 to the charity from every ticket sold for the show, “Alexander & The Terrible, Horrible, No Good, Very Bad Day” at 6:45pm and “The Ninja Turtles” at 7.30pm. Charity tickets are also available at €25 per ticket, with €15.00 going direct to the charity and €10.00 covering the cost of the movie.
Come early on the night and pop in to say hello ! Every Child dressed in their Halloween Costume will get a free treat!

The Firkin Crane October 18th Spooktacular Dance event at Movie Junction

Spooktacular Dancers and Monsters will be at Movie Junction on Saturday October 18th from 6.30pm to 8 pm to give Movie Junction goers a preview in to the style of this upcoming Halloween show. No doubt the crowds will be entertained by their spooktacualr outfits. There will also be the oppurtunity to have your picture taken with the Firkin Crane Dancers for a night that you will not soon be forgotten … And why not ask your children to dress up too in tehir brand new Halloween costumes to add to the fun. See you all there!

On Thursday October 30th, Movie Junction will be holding a Spooktacular Halloween Fancy Dress party for children as well as family pets and of course their lovable teddy bears.

The town of Youghal is steeped in legends and stories of banshees, witches “Woman Of The Water”, ghosts, knights, Templar’s and more. For the Halloween Festival these stories have been brought back to “Life”. Are you brave enough to visit!?

Boo!! At Leahy’s Open Farm

Leahy’s open farm will host Boo this Halloween for you and your family to enjoy. Take a trip on the haunted hay ride through the farm. Find your way to the witch’s layer and help our little old witch make a magic spell by gathering the special ingredients. Join in for the witches wiggle disco. Everyone is invited to dress up for the experience (adults too). Please note entry to farm is €9 per person and all normal activities will also be available at the farm. Boo experience takes place in Leahy’s Open Farm for an additional €3 per child.
The ‘Boo’ Experience will take place from 30th October to 2 Novemeber from 2pm to 5pm.

14th World Ghost Convention: Friday 24th October

The magnificent 19th century Cork City Gaol is a splendid atmospheric setting for the 14th World Ghost Convention with its own resident ghosts reportedly seen by members of the audience and speakers since the first Ghost Convention in 2001. A unique event where a colorful assortment of supernatural topics is explored.

Dragon Of Shandon Samhain Parade on 31st of October
A community festival with performances and workshops for people of all ages to get involved in. Dress up, get spooky and walk with Ireland’s last dragon through the historic streets of Shandon. The evening parade on Halloween sees hundreds of costumed zombies and vampires accompany the 36ft Dragon on the streets of Shandon.

Firkin Crane presents Dance Spooktacular : 28th-30th October

A show that brings together a selection of the baddest, most ghoulish dance-friends dug up by Firkin Crane to scare the wits out of anyone brave enough to buy a ticket. Proceeds will go to supporting the Dragon of Shandon Festival and freaky Firkin Crane’s refurbishment. Show is suitable for all ages.

Halloween Camp at Tír Na Sí October 28th – 31st, Watergrasshill

An extreme walk-through haunted event preying on your deepest fears and nightmares and twisting them into a deadly reality

All Nightmare Realm events change yearly with new themes, scenes and characters from the grotesque and blood churning to the sick and extreme. Our themes can sometimes be controversial, but are always thrilling, pushing the boundaries of your sanity! While not everyone is brave enough to make it through the entire attraction, it tests your bravery to its limit.

Your pulse will race and you will laugh and cry at the same time. The Nightmare Realm is not for the faint of heart and younger people may need to be supervised by an adult.
